Depending on your situation, you can receive technical support answers from your direct question from an online chat, from a fax or over the telephone.  Hardware troubles can be a more complicated problem and those are generally dealt with in person.  A tech support person can come to your home or office to work hand-on with your product to solve the problem. Some tech support can cost you time and materials or can be charged by the hour. Managed services means a company has a flat fee or a fixed rate that is charged.
